Jackie Herd
Jackie has been designing and creating glass for over 8 years. She grew up with a stained glass artist, Barbara Shaw, who was known for her stained glass sculpture and glasswork
Jackie unfortunately never learned her craft from her Mom, because she passed away from breast cancer, Barbara left a couple of glass pieces unfinished, and Jackie was determined to complete those pieces. She learned stained glass making from local glass artist, Eileen Rakitin -- Autumn Glassworks, Upton.
Jackie loves designing unique pieces for her clients. Choosing different colors, textures, and metal components truly bring her pieces to life!
When Jackie isn't in her workshop creating glasswork, she can be found spending time with her family, painting, or working with her students at the local middle school.
Nick Herd
Nick’s blacksmithing journey began in 2014 with little more than curiosity and a few repurposed household items. He built his first forge from an old paint can, a soup can, and the lid of a pot—using a hair dryer as a makeshift bellows. That humble setup sparked a deep passion for metalwork that continues to shape his life.
Initially self-taught, Nick honed his skills through trial, error, and mentorship from Bruce Anderson, a seasoned blacksmith based in Upton, Massachusetts. His dedication led him to pursue formal training, earning a Bachelor of Science in Fine Arts from Bridgewater State University, where he specialized in Metal Sculpture.
Nick has since won awards in blacksmithing competitions and finds his greatest joy in the heat of the forge—transforming molten steel into striking works of art. His sculptures now grace permanent public installations and healthcare facilities and private collections across Massachusetts, blending craftsmanship with community impact.
